Default Online Trading Companies (IE - Etrade)

Hello,
New to the world of online trading, so just looking for some direction...

I See Vantage recommends we use jitneytrade.com, but I was just wondering what other members are use?

I feel $9.99 with only 15 trades a month is a little steep (Correct me if I'm wrong)

I see/hear lots about E-trade.ca/com does anyone use them?
What are some of the other companies?

I wont be doing a lot of trading and only with penny stock, so looking for a company that can offer low monthly fee's and a decent amount of free trades.

Thanks for taking the time to post!

Hate to say it, but you're not really going to find what you're looking for.

If you want amazing customer service, by friendly people that can assist you through your first few trades, I highly recommend QTrade

You'll be paying $20 per trade ($40 to buy and sell), but that's a small price to pay if you want a user friendly interface and excellent service.

I use Qtrade daily, TD Waterhouse where I pay $29 per trade, and Interactive Brokers where I pay $1 per trade... However with IB you need a $10K minimum to open an account.

There are all sort of cheapo sites like Questrade and ETrade etc, but believe me when I say you get what you pay for.

Good luck!

Oh - and if you're just planning on buying penny stocks, I hope you know you'll be gambling and not investing For every one that makes it, there's ten+ losers when it comes to pennies.

How is it possible that you only pay $1 per trade with IB?
I am from Europe and I look for an broker that I can use the Can$ or Australian dollar to trade with.

Anything is possible...

Despite their great pricing, I don't like IB much at all. The cheap commissions isn't enough for me to use it for my regular trading anymore.

Jitney costs are outrageous. Phone Qtrade and negotiate. They'll likely do trades for C$10

Negotiate?? please - do share lol

I've asked multiple times, and unless you do 30 trades every 90 days, you're paying about $24 per limit order, $19 per market order. Once you hit 30 per quarter, you pay $10 per, moving forward. (Not retro-active) If you do 29 or less the next quarter, your back into the $20's
