Later this month, hockey fans and cinephiles alike will be treated to the true hockey fight experience with the release of the upcoming feel Goon, starring Jay Baruchel and Sean William Scott. The movie, set to hit theatres beginning on February 24, 2012, is the first Canadian production to receive the added boost of an immersive motion experience presented by D-Box Technologies’ (TSX-V:DBO) MFX.

The announcement comes after D-Box and Alliance Vivafilm reached an agreement to present the film in select theatres in Canada.

“We are very proud to be associated with Alliance Vivafilm to present the first Canadian production in D-Box," said Claude McMaster, President and CEO of D-Box Technologies. "Hockey fans will be delighted with this movie full of action scenes."

The film features the story of a dim-witted but nice man (Scott) who becomes the enforcer of a minor league hockey team. With a tag line of “If you can’t beat’em, beat’em up!,” the film offers several fight sequences that should rock the seats of the viewers seated in the D-Box section of the theatre.

"D-Box offers the most innovative immersive experience and I am happy to announce that Goon will be featured with D-Box MFX. Moviegoers will have the chance to feel as though they were part of the movie and will live the action of the numerous fights right from their seats", said André Rouleau, Producer of the movie Goon.

"D-Box brings a whole new dimension to movie viewing and we are excited to be associated with them for this first Canadian production," declared Patrick Roy, President and CEO of Alliance Vivafilm.

D-Box technology is offered both in the theatre and in the home, with many major Hollywood releases having its unique, patented technology, D-BOX Motion Code™. Coming encrypted within blu-ray copies of the films, TV series and games to use motion effects specifically programmed to send a signal to a motion generating system integrated within either a platform or a seat.

The result is motion that is perfectly synchronized with all onscreen action to create a realistic immersive experience. The D-BOX Motion Code™ is available on more than 900 titles. By reaching agreements with leaders of both the motion picture and gaming industries, D-BOX and its award-winning motion technology are gradually trying to become a global standard in the entertainment world.
